The new-look Baltimore offense never got going against Houston despite the score looking like it did with all those points, and Cincy's offense, they're always bad in Cleveland. Last year they had 220-something yards of offense, they went out the next week and scored 42 points. I don't think this is indicative of the Cincy team we're going to see throughout the rest of the year, and the weather didn't help last week. Cincy's pa s defense was solid, the rush defense goes from facing Nick Chubb to Gus Edwards, Justice Hill and an injured offensive line that probably is going to be without Ronnie Stanley and Tyler Linderbaum in this game. Key injures for the Ravens already rearing their ugly head like they do every year for the Ravens somehow."That's R.J. The latter was in line with my expectations for the Bears entering the season, but what if they aren't as bad as they looked last week? And I don't think the Bucs looked particularly good or even deserved to come out of that game with a win. My number for this game is Bucs -1.5, so there's decent value on the Bears already, and pushing them up to +8.5 is the best teaser move you can make as you not only capture the 3, 4, 6 and 7 but also the 8, which is a more common number in recent years."That's SportsLine expert R.J. Yes, he completed 55.5% of his pa ses in the opener, but he was making some elite throws in that win over Chicago, including three touchdown pa ses. And that was without No. 1 option Christian Watson. As for the other quarterback in this game, I wasn't overly impre sed by Falcons QB Desmond Ridder, despite his 83.3 completion percentage in the win over Carolina. I think Green Bay has the more explosive offense and that could prove to be too much for Ridder to keep pace with. Meanwhile, Love is 2-0 ATS in his two career starts and the Falcons are 1-5 ATS in their last six games as an underdog."Tyler Sullivan likes the Packers to move to 2-0 on Sunday. Stroud. Which makes a potential win somehow better than revenge. Richardson got banged up last week but would have played if the game was on the line and isn't even on the injury report going into this game. Call it what you want, but the Colts offense might turn Richardson -- as an effective runner (he ran 10 times for 40 yards and a touchdown) and dangerous pa ser (24 of 37 for 223 yards, a touchdown and a pick) -- into the Offensive Rookie of the Year, in a similar vein to Cam Newton if he can stay healthy the whole season. Indy can generate pa s rush against a banged-up Houston offensive line and I trust the Colts coaching staff and Richardson to prevent the ma sive mistake more than I trust the Texans and Stroud to do so."CBS Sports Senior NFL Writer Will Brinson is on the Colts to cover the spread vs. their AFC South rivals in Week 2. The offense was so bad that I'm halfway convinced that they didn't actually have a training camp this year, and if they did have one, Ryan Tannehill definitely wasn't there. I mean, that's the only conclusion that makes any sense to me after watching him play in Week 1."If you mi sed Tenne see's opener, Tannehill threw three interceptions and completed fewer than 50% of his pa ses. He looked absolutely lost and I'm not sure he can be fixed in one week. The good news for the Titans is that they're playing the Chargers, the one team in the NFL that seems to invent new ways to lose every week, well, except for this week, because I don't think they're going to lose."I think the Titans defense can keep this close and I also think that Tennesee could pull off the upset if Derrick Henry gets rolling, but in the end, I think this game will turn out like last week's game for Tenne see where everyone but Tannehill plays well enough to win." The Jets defense has had their number and Allen tried to do too much. That won't be nece sary against the Raiders, who weren't tested deep at all last week against Ru sell Wilson. In fact, it was rocking in the preseason. The Giants even had to use a silent count! "The Seahawks' lo s to the Los Angeles Rams was surprising. I thought Seattle's defense was going to be improved, but Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell both recorded 119 receiving yards apiece last Sunday. I guarantee no one had that on their bingo card. I'm not basing this pick solely off of Seattle's Week 1 performance (it's never smart to do that), but more off of the injury report. This reverts them to what they were a year ago: a team with a great defense and phenomenal weapons, but lack the quarterback to string it all together. While they were able to ride the emotions of losing Rodgers and enjoy Josh Allen handing them the football four times en route to an overtime win, I don't believe they'll be as fortunate in Week 2 when they head to Dallas. Instead, they could be looking at a similar fate to what their MetLife Stadium roommates, the Giants, faced in Week 1."While it was an admittedly tough spot to be thrust into action under the circumstances, Wilson looked like the quarterback we remember. He stared down a throw that was easily intercepted by Matt Milano, looked uncomfortable in the pocket and largely played around the line of scrimmage. That's not going to work against Dallas, who has covered 58% of its games since drafting Dak Prescott in 2016 (best mark in the NFL over that span). I also have concerns about New York's pa s protection after allowing a 50% pre sure rate in Week 1 (third highest in the NFL). While Seattle has since claimed the celebration was in honor of safety becoming a new father, veteran leaders Matt Szczur Jersey and suggested in separate pre s conferences that the behavior stems from the "youth" on the team."I'm old-school, so it was nice to get a win, but we didn't make the playoffs," Wagner after Seattle's 21-20 win. Brady has only been playing in the NFC for two full seasons, and somehow, he's on the cusp of breaking the record. The NFC has produced multiple Hall of Fame quarterbacks over the years who played all or most of their careers in the NFC. From Brett Favre to Joe Montana to Troy Aikman, there have been some big names, but Brady could top them all.The current record for most playoff wins against NFC teams belongs to Favre, who recorded 12 such victories during his 20-year career. Favre Jorge Soler Jersey picked up 11 of those wins with the and then tacked on one more in 2009 while he was with the .If the reach the Super Bowl during the upcoming season, Brady could end up topping that number, and the crazy part is that he could do it while having played just three full seasons in the NFC. After signing with the Buccaneers in 2020, Brady immediately added three more playoff wins against NFC teams during Tampa Bay's run to Super Bowl LV. In 2021, Brady tacked on one more playoff win before losing to the in the divisional round. That gave him six wins with the Patriots and four with the Buccaneers. Now that he has 10, Favre's record is in reach. If the Buccaneers once again reach the Super Bowl in 2022 with a run that starts in the wild-card round, then Brady would tack on three more wins against Ryan O'Hearn Jersey NFC teams. That would give him 13 for his career, which would break Favre's record. Here Blaine Boyer Jersey 's a look at the quarterbacks who have the most playoffs wins against NFC teams:Brett Favre: 12Joe Montana: 10: 10Tom Brady: 10If the Packers play the Buccaneers in the NFC title game, we could get a situation where the winning quarterback becomes the record-holder. (This could only happen if the Packers and Buccaneers both start their playoff runs in the wild-card round.) As for Brady, he has 35 overall playoffs wins in his career. Not only is that the NFL record, but it's also more than double the next quarterbackon the list. (Joe Montana has 16 total wins when you count his victories over both AFC and NFC teams.)
The divisional round of the playoffs certainly disproved some narratives that lasted in the NFL throughout the year. Perhaps the Dallas Cowboys weren't the Super Bowl contender they were originally believed to be over the last several months or the Cincinnati Bengals really are the best team in the AFC (despite their 2-3 start to the season).Where do the Buffalo Bills go from here after a tough lo s to the Bengals? What about the Blake Swihart Jersey Cowboys going forward? Both those teams can't view their seasons the same way as the New York Giants and Jacksonville Jaguars, two teams that surprisingly made the divisional round after being two of the worst teams in football for several seasons. There's a reason to be optimistic in Jacksonville and New York.As for the teams that made it to conference championship weekend? Can and the Kansas City Chiefs finally defeat their kryptonite of and the Cincinnati Bengals? Can the San Francisco 49ers and the No. 1 defense continue the "defense wins championships" mantra and beat the NFC's No. 1 offense in the Philadelphia Eagles?Divisional weekend certainly provided a lot of answers, especially with the conference championship games next week. Here's what we learned in the divisional round of the playoffs from each team. Defense rose to the occasion with Patrick Mahomes injured: The Chiefs are 54-3 when they hold their opponents to le s than 27 points, including postseason play. The defense took that statistic to merit, doing a very good job at limiting Jacksonville to 20 points in the 27-20 victory. Was it a perfect performance? No, but it was good enough. The Jaguars had 144 rushing yards and averaged 7.6 yards per carry while going 7 of 13 on third down, but the Chiefs forced a interception up 27-20 late in the fourth quarter and hit him seven times. The defense stepped up during the second quarter when Mahomes was in the locker room, holding Jacksonville to three points in the second quarter and keeping the lead at the break before Mahomes returned. Is the Chiefs defense great? No, but this is Steve Spagnuolo's best unit since he arrived in Kansas City. Le s than 27 points seems to be the magic number for a victory, whether Mahomes is healthy or not.Drops cost team chance at an upset: The David Ortiz Jersey Jaguars were able to hang around with the Chiefs throughout the game, but Jacksonville may have been going to the AFC Championship Game if it wasn't for a few key drops. Trevor Lawrence found on a deep pa s that would have gone for 55 yards in the second quarter, but Kirk dropped the pa s and the Jaguars rallied for a field goal.In a 17-7 game, Kirk needed that reception to get Jacksonville in the red zone and put some pre sure on Kansas City. The Jaguars had another drop in the second quarter, as had a drop on third-and-19 that forced the Jaguars to punt. The drops had an effect on Lawrence in the third quarter, as he was 5 of 8 for 10 yards on two po se sions as Jacksonville couldn't gain any ground. The Jaguars offense just seemed out of sync after the Kirk drop -- and never recovered.Jacksonville will be back next year with a franchise quarterback in Lawrence and a roster that should improve. The Jaguars will learn from these miscues as the young team continues to develop. returned in a big way: Johnson spent the past three weeks rehabbing and prepping for the opportunity to play in the postseason after delaying surgery for a torn adductor in his groin. How effective the best right tackle would be was anyone's gue s. Turns out, Johnson was his typical dominant self. He allowed no sacks, pre sures, quarterback hits, and had a 0.0% pre sure rate in 26 pa s-blocking snaps. His impact was felt against Giants pa s rusher , who didn't have a pre sure facing Johnson in the divisional round. The Eagles also ran for 268 yards, the second most in a postseason game in franchise history. The Eagles offensive line is the best in football. With Johnson on the field, they're dominant. The offensive line needs improvements this offseason: In each of the Giants' three meetings with the Eagles, the offensive line was no match for a front that had 70 sacks this season. The Giants allowed 60 pre sures and 14 sacks in three games against the Eagles, 16 pre sures and five sacks came in Saturday's Jimmie Foxx Jersey lo s. New York allowed 49 sacks on the year, which was tied for the fifth most in the NFL. The 272 pre sures allowed was the second most and the 43.4% pre sure rate was the highest. This simply isn't good enough.New York needs to further develop to give a battery mate at tackle. The interior of the line needs to be reworked as , , and struggled against the elite pa s-rushing teams. wasn't much better either. The Giants have cap space to improve the offensive line. If New York keeps , the Giants need to protect him and give him a chance to throw the ball downfield. So much for having three offensive linemen out: The Bengals didn't have left tackle , right tackle , and right guard against the Bills. Three-fifths of the offensive line out? Didn't matter. made his first start at left tackle, made his third start at right tackle, and made his second start at right guard. The inexperience didn't matter as the three were part of a dismantling of Buffalo's defensive front, pacing Cincinnati to 172 rushing yards and 5.1 yards per carry. This is the same Cincinnati run offense that was 29th in rushing yards and 29th in yards per carry during the regular season. The trio of Carman, Adeniji, and Scharping didn't allow a sack in the game. They allowed just two quarterback hits, but did allow 11 pre sures. Regardle s of the high pre sure rate, they protected Joe Burrow and set up the run game for arguably its best performance of the year. The Bengals offensive line answered all the questions it needed to.The run game was a farce: No team had more deceiving rushing numbers than the Bills this season, yet the rushing yards per game and yards per carry didn't rear its ugly head until Sunday. Buffalo had just 63 rush yards and averaged 3.3 yards per carry against Cincinnati, their lowest yards per carry average in a game all season. was a nonfactor with six carries for 24 yards. The Bills didn't trust rookie enough to give him the ball late in the year either (he finished with five carries for 13 yards). was their leading rusher with 26 yards, and he had just 3.3 yards per carry (averaged 6.1 on the season).Neither Singletary nor Cook appeared to be go-to backs late, as the Bills averaged just 3.8 yards per carry in the fourth quarter on the year. Singletary averaged just 4.0 yards per carry as defenses keyed in on Allen (3.2 yards per carry). Buffalo needs a go-to back in 2023 if the Bills want to go to the Super Bowl. Of course, having a better offensive line won't hurt either. They just can't depend on Allen as much to carry the run game. struggled against Cowboys pre sure: Purdy did his job for the seventh straight start -- leading the 49ers to a win. He didn't turn the football over in a game in which the defense played a major role and getting him off his spot, which was crucial toward the 49ers advancing. There is a cause for Eduardo Rodriguez Jersey concern, especially with who the 49ers are facing next week. Purdy was just 3 of 11 for 24 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions while being sacked twice (39.6 rating). The Cowboys were able to not make Purdy's life easy, something other defenses couldn't do in his six previous starts. Purdy completed 51.1% of his pa ses for 264 yards with three touchdowns to one interception under pre sure in the regular season (82.1 rating). In the playoffs, 36.8% of his pa ses (7 of 19) for 157 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions (102.3 rating). Are the numbers better? The Seattle game inflated how Purdy has been performing when a defense gets near him, but the Dallas game may be an indication of how things could go next week. Of course, the Eagles and their 75 sacks (regular season and playoffs) have to actually get to Purdy too. needed to be good -- and wasn't: The Dak Prescott who showed up the majority of the season reappeared in Wade Boggs Jersey Sunday's lo s to the 49ers. Prescott was 23 of 37 for 206 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions, his sixth multi-interception game of the year.Prescott mi sed several open receivers and made questionable decisions, becoming a liability for the offense instead of a strength. When pre sured, Prescott was a putrid 4 of 11 for 14 yards and an interception for a 7.0 rating. In the second half (the half without ), Prescott was 11 of 21 for 125 yards with no touchdowns and a 70.5 rating. Those numbers simply aren't good enough for a $40 million quarterback who needed to carry the offense to scoring drives. Prescott looked like the player who led the NFL in interceptions since he returned in Week 7 with his questionable decision-making -- instead of the quarterback who had huge games against Philadelphia and Tampa Bay over the last month.Prescott is simply too inconsistent to help the Cowboys make a Super Bowl run. He is what he is at this point -- and it's up to Dallas to attempt to correct his i sues as he approaches 30.
In a week that sees the working to bounce back from a nauseating performance against the , they'll have to also work to figure out their situation at kicker. Two days after suffering a 30-16 lo s to the Broncos at AT&T Stadium, they were forced to move to the COVID/Reserve list, putting extreme doubt on his ability to be available for the Matt Harvey Jersey Week 10 matchup against the . This is a developing story, but if Zuerlein tested positive for COVID-19, his vaccination status will play a large part in how the situation plays out.In the meantime, the Cowboys will look to add a kicker to the roster, -- in preparation to not have Zuerlein this weekend. The frontrunner to potentially replace Zuerlein, sources affirm, is , a familiar face to the Cowboys. Hajrullahu was signed in August to finish the preseason as Zuerlein worked his way back from a back injury but released in final roster cuts, then re-signed following a poor Week 1 outing by Zuerlein against the .A strong showing in Week 2 by Zuerlein George Foster Jersey led to Hajrullahu being released a second time, but he is currently still a free agent and someone the Cowboys believe can step in and get the job done. They'll also look into other options in free agency, so it's not a foregone conclusion they'll land on Hajrullahu, although it is the likely outcome -- when also considering they don't have a lot of time to figure this all out.The Cowboys begin practicing on Wednesday for the Falcons. Another option for the Cowboys would be to bring back Kai Forbath, who was literally perfect in his short time with the Cowboys in 2019. He was re-signed in the offseason to follow but sent on his way months later as special teams coordinator John "Bones" Fa sel convinced the Cowboys to sign Zuerlein to a three-year deal -- Drew Storen Jersey his kicker from their time together with the Los Angeles Rams. There is also Brett Maher, who ultimately lost his job to Forbath, having served as Cowboys kicker in 2018 through his time ending in December 2019. Maher holds Joey Votto Jersey the franchise record for longest kick (62 yards) but began to struggle with shorter distances on his way out.As mentioned, Zuerlein improved mightily following his Week 1 whiffs that helped cost the Cowboys a win in Tampa, going on to hit on 100 percent of his extra point attempts in five of the six weeks to follow after mi sing on one in Week 1, although he'd mi s one again in Week 3 against the . Having made only three of his five field goal attempts in the opener (60%), Zuerlein didn't mi s any until Week 6 against the , going on to mi s two combined over the next two games. He wasn't asked to attempt any field goals or PATs in the lo s to the Broncos, and is now likely sidelined against the Falcons. If Zuerlein is unvaccinated, he'll be required to quarantine for 10 days. If vaccinated, he can return once he's symptom-free (it is currently Adam Duvall Jersey not known if he has symptoms and/or how severe they might be) along with producing two negative tests within a 24-hour period.
None of Hue Jackson's tanking allegations against thecould be substantiated, the NFL announced in a .After a 60-day independent review Nate Lowe Jersey of the comments made by the former Browns head coach, the investigation announced there was "no evidence to suggest that the Browns' Four-Year Plan or the club's ownership or football personnel sought to lose or incentivized lo ses and Willy Adames Jersey made no decisions deliberately to weaken the team to secure a more favorable draft position."The investigation included the full cooperation of the Browns, which included interviews with owner Jimmy Haslam along with current and former members of the organization. The Debevoise team of lawyers (who conducted the investigation) did not speak to Jackson, but they had acce s to Oliver Drake Jersey his public statements and to his filings and testimony in a prior arbitration proceeding. According to the statement, the Browns produced thousands of pages of documents, including emails, texts, and internal memos along with other material relating to club operations. The Browns about Jackson's allegations:"The recent comments by Hue Jackson and his representatives relating to his tenure as our head coach are completely fabricated. Any accusation that any member of our organization was incentivized to deliberately lose games is categorically false." Jackson finished just 3-36-1 with the Browns from 2016 to Ryan Yarbrough Jersey 2018, a winning percentage of .088. He was 1-31 after his first two seasons before getting fired in 2018 after Cleveland started 2-5-1. Jackson claimed Brad Miller Jersey the browns provided incentives to lose games during the 2016 and 2017 seasons when the franchise lost 31 of 32 games. who said his claims were false when he made the accusations, yet the NFL reached the same verdict.
Since the NFL season ended in February, it seems like there's been a new rumor every week about the fact that the NFL is going to expand the schedule to 17 games for 2021. Well, I have some good news for you and that news it that those rumors are finally going to end and they're likely going to end today because the NFL's 32 owners are finally going to vote on it.The NFL's annual league meeting will be virtually going down today and tomorrow with the vote on the 17th game expected to come Tuesday afternoon. By the time you read this newsletter, there's a good chance that the NFL will officially have expanded the schedule to 17 games. When that happens, not only will it add 16 new games to the schedule every year, but one of those games might be played in Germany! We'll have more details on that Germany game in today's newsletter plus some free agency grades and all the mock drafts you can handle. Alright, let's get to the rundown. As always, here's your weekly reminder to tell all your friends to sign up for the newsletter. All you have to do is. 1. Today's show: AFC East free agency gradesWith the brunt of free agency now in the rearview mirror, that means it's now time to do our favorite thing here at the Pick Six Podcast: Grade how everyone did. For the rest of the week, we'll be going through each division and handing out grades for each team. On Ryan Rua Jersey today's show, we started with the AFC East and that's mainly because the spent the most money in free agency, so we thought it made sense to grade them first. For this episode, Will Brinson was joined by noted Patriots homer Tyler Sullivan and the two of them teamed up to hand out their AFC East free agency report cards. Here's a sneak peek at the grades:Patriots: B+Notable additions:, , , , , , , , : C+Notable additions:, , , , , : A-Notable additions:, , : B+Notable additions:, , , , , If you want a more in-depth explanation on each grade, you're definitely going to . 2. insist they're going to keep After the 49ers traded up to the third spot in the NFL Draft on Friday, most people likely a sumed that the move meant the end of Jimmy Garoppolo's career in San Francisco, but apparently, that's not the case. During an interview on Monday, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said that Garoppolo ."We still plan on him leading us and getting us as far as we can with him," Shanahan said. The crazy part is that he said that with a straight face. You don't trade up to three unle s you're drafting a quarterback and if you draft a quarterback at three, that means your current quarterback isn't going to be around much longer. Anyway, Shanahan tried to insist that making the trade would actually make Garoppolo a better player, because the deal would make or something like that."I'm sure Jimmy was a little pi sed off from it, just like I would be, too, but me knowing Jimmy, he'll be fired up and come in and he'll work his butt off," Shanahan said. "Knowing Jimmy, the more mad Jimmy gets, usually the better he gets."The 49ers coach said he did eventually talk to Garoppolo about the deal and that the two had a honest conversation. "We were very straight up with each other and I told him how we felt," Shanahan said. "This doesn't change any of his circumstances right now. He's still coming in here and trying to lead this team. I told him how excited I was that free agency went a lot better than anticipated with signing a lot more of our own players than we had thought going into it and that we have a real good team coming back here."Remember everyone, it's draft season, which means it's smokescreen season, which means you can't believe anything any coach says between now and the draft. I think what I'm trying to say here is that I'd say there's only about 20% chance that Garoppolo is on San Francisco's roster come Week 1.3. Hue Jackson claims gave him an extension during 0-16 seasonThe Cleveland Browns have made some terrible decisions over the past 20 years -- remember, this is the team that drafted , and -- but the worst decision of all might have been one that no one even knew about. Apparently, the Browns gave Hue Jackson a CONTRACT Jurickson Profar Jersey EXTENSION during the middle of their 0-16 season in 2017. That news comes from Jackson, who ."I got a contract extension at 1-23, midway through the season," Jackson said,. "I wanted to go public with it, but the Browns didn't."According to Cabot, Jackson did actually get a one-year extension. If the Browns didn't want to go public with the deal, that seems like a red flag. That's like dating someone, but they don't want to tell anyone that you're actually dating. When that happens, there's a 4000% chance that relationship is not going to work. As for Jackson, if he got the extension at 1-23, that means it came at a point in the 2017 season when the Browns were 0-8. If you're looking for one decision that has perfectly summed up the Browns' ineptitude over the past 20 years, that's probably it. Jackson claims it didn't Scott Heineman Jersey work out in Cleveland because he became the "fall guy" when the coaching staff and the front office became divided against each other over analytics."There's no doubt I was lied to by ownership and leadership of the team. They were going to be football plus analytics, but it was football vs. analytics," Jackson said. "I think I became the fall guy because that was the narrative. The truth needs to come out, for other minority coaches. They need to know the pitfalls out there. My story has affected some of their futures."Jackson also noted that he is in the midst of writing a book and all I can say about that is let's hope he's better at writing than he is at coaching. 4. NFL set to approve expanded schedule, which could mean one game in GermanyBy the time you read this newsletter, there's a good chance that the NFL will officially have expanded the schedule to 17 games.Once the vote happens, one of the biggest changes you'll see will come with international games. According the NFL could be moving a game to Germany as soon as next year, which means if you've ever wanted to celebrate Oktoberfest in Germany, 2022 might be a good year to do it.When the expanded schedule gets approved, that will create 16 new games on the schedule each season and all 16 of those will be AFC-NFC games. Of those 16 games, four of them will be played internationally starting in 2022 and a big reason that's happening is because the NFL is going to require every team to play at least (My gue s is that one division each year will have to host the international games). With the league planning to play at least four international games each year, the plan is to put two in London, one in Mexico City and one in Germany. The German game . As the international games move forward, the NFL will also be eyeing other countries like Canada and South America. 5. mock draft: is the big winner With le s than one month to go until the NFL Draft, it's time to get serious around here and when we get serious, we start producing seven-round mock drafts. Over the next few weeks, we'll be putting together a seven-round mock for each NFL team and we started that series out today by doing the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals are one of the most intriguing teams in the draft this year and that's mostly because they're likely going to get the top non-quarterback in the draft. If the top four teams in the draft all take a quarterback, which is looking more and more like it's going to happen, the Bengals are going to be sitting pretty with the fifth overall pick.If the Bengals want to bring in some protection for Joe Burrow, they could take Penei Sewell out of Oregon, who just happens to be the consensus top tackle in the draft. If the Bengals want to add another weapon to their offense, they could go with LSU wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase or Florida tight end Kyle Pitts, who would both instantly give the Bengals a more high-powered attack. So what are they going to do? Here's my prediction.1. OL Penei Sewell, Oregon2. WR Terrace Marshall Jr., LSU3. EDGE Ronnie Perkins, Oklahoma4. OG Ben Cleveland, Georgia5. DL Chauncey Golston, Iowa6. K Jose Borregales, Miami6. TE Tony Poljan, Virginia7. LB Paddy Fisher, NorthwesternYou can check out my full . If you need even more mock drafts in your life -- and who doesn't -- you going with the first Elvis Andrus Jersey four picks. Finally, if you want to know who the top five picks of all time are to be selected at No. 31 overall, . 6. Two NFL stadiums getting new namesI hate when stadiums get new names because I can never remember them, which means the upcoming NFL season is definitely going to be a headache because it appears that two different stadiums are going to be renamed for the 2021 season.Bills new stadium name. After playing in a building that was simply called "Bills Stadium" last year, Buffalo will now play at Highmark Stadium after Highmark Blue Cro s Blue Shield of Western New York bought the naming rights. This is the stadium's fifth name following Rich Stadium (1973-1997), Ralph Wilson Stadium (1998-2015), New Era Field (2016-2019) and Bills Stadium (2020).SuperDome getting a new name in New Orleans. The Mercedes-Benz Superdome will be getting a new name in July and , Caesars Entertainment is taking over. Yes, that's the gambling company. It's not clear what the name will be, but I hope it's Caesar's Palace and not the Caesar's SuperDome. I'm cheering for the first one because every time I walk in the stadium from now on, I want to be able to ask someone if this is the real Caesar's Palace.Since I'm mentioning name changes, I should probably also add that the stadium underwent a small name change earlier this month. The Chiefs signed a deal with the Government Employees Health A sociation so the stadium will now be known as GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. I'm glad it's GEHA, because Government Employees Health A sociation Russell Wilson Jersey Field at Arrowhead Stadium doesn't really roll off the tongue.7. The Kicker: Guy playing video games breaks free agency newsIf you're worried that your kid is playing too many video games, I say let them play and that's mostly because there's a chance they could turn into the NFL's next big news breaker, which is kind of what happened over the weekend.I'm going to try to make this as concise as po sible:Someone .That person was playing the game on the internet with a female partner that he had never met.The female had her mic on, which means the guy on Reddit could hear the conversation going on at her home. One of the conversations involved the woman's husband talking about a po sible "deal" with Pittsburgh. The Reddit guy noticed the woman had a Chicago geotag and after listening to more of the conversation, he thought this might be a situation where a player was looking to sign with the .On Monday, Bears offensive lineman signed a free agent deal with the Steelers and the best part is that did in fact leak the news during a Call of Duty game over the weekend.I think the moral of the story here is don't ever stop playing video games. If you need me, I'm going to go on a 24-hour Mario Kart bender and because of that, I'll be letting Cody Benjamin take the reins of the newsletter tomorrow.
At this time a year ago, the status of Sean McVay and his continuation as the head coach of the After the 2022 campaign, McVay contemplated his future and a po sible retirement from coaching for what Neil Walker Jersey was believed to likely be a broadcasting job as an analyst. However, McVay ultimately decided to stick around and a year later there's little to no question about his status for 2024.But if you needed more confirmation, McVay gave it during Monday's edition of the "Coach Jose Fernandez Jersey McVay Show" that is run on the official team channels. Specifically, McVay and the hosts were discu sing him becoming the franchise's all-time wins leader as a head coach. McVay currently has 69 regular season wins in his career and trails John Robinson (75) by just six victories. It was during that conversation Curtis Granderson Jersey that McVay confirmed that he'll be with the team in 2024 to try and eclipse that mark."That I can promise you," said McVay This is how we closed out the Coach McVay Show season finale ... with a promise Corey Dickerson Jersey to chase a bit of history in 2024. J.B. Long (@JB_Long) If the Rams can stay healthy throughout next season, it's almost a sured that McVay will take ahold of the record, adding to what has already been a stellar coaching career in Los Angeles. McVay has the Rams clinched for a wild-card spot this postseason and will look to add to what is already the franchise record for most playoff wins at 7-3. His club will be wrapping up the 2023 campaign in Santa Clara on Sunday when they visit the in Week Jazz Chisholm Jersey 18.
As everyone obse ses over the Raheem Sterling saga, their attention should be turned to the other exciting English talent that has made his move to the Etihad: Patrick Roberts. City have acquired a midfielder that at the tender age of 18, has already scored 14 times at youth international level. He is an extraordinary talent according to former bo s Felix Magath, and with the right education and development England fans as well as City fans will soon have a new hero to fascinate over. For Reggie Jackson Jersey now though, he remains relatively unknown and the general reaction to the deal is that he is simply there to addre s the home-grown quota, filling up the numbers. Because of this, for many fans the deal carries with it a worry that City will ruin Roberts, as they did with Jack Rodwell and Scott Sinclair. But if Christian Laettner Jersey we are on the subject of accountability, who really is to blame for the declines of those players? It is very simplistic to point the finger at the financial powerhouse such as Manchester City. After all, for their owners, football is ultimately a busine s and very rarely is a footballing project with so much financial backing patient and purely focu sed on the long term. Results are needed, and needed quickly meaning they will play their best XI and gear everything towards trophies. Easing promising but raw English talent into the team with some regular game time is not high on the agenda. In fact it probably doesnt mean a thing for these owners, and why should it?That being said, young players still make the move. Are they all simply blinded by the money? Only they know. But what they should also know is everything I mentioned above, so why are they not put off by that? Yes, Roberts Caron Butler Jersey will now surround himself with superior coaches, facilities and players. This is good for his development. But nothing beats regular game time, something they Ish Smith Jersey can have no guarantees over. I should think that every player who makes a big move has the self-belief that they will make it, and become a regular, otherwise theres no point of getting up in the morning. But there needs to be realism added to the hopes and dreams. This week, boxer Anthony Joshua was asked: How good are you now, and how good are you going to be? to which he answered, right now I am no good but I have the ability to be exceptional. This is a young man whos smothered by media hype and high expectations but he himself has his feet firmly on the ground, and earlier in the interview stated the importance of living simply.Player power dominates transfer windows, so why dont players now pave their own paths towards fulfilling their potential. Joshuas style out of the ring should be emulated by our young, talented players. For the sake of England, the FA can place more regulations on home-grown players; literally forcing managers to play them, but why Rick Mahorn Jersey shouldnt our players take responsibility and ensure that they choose being played over getting paid?By James Abedian https://twitter.com/jamesabedian
While the were victorious in Super Bowl LVI, there were unanswered questions about the future. Head coach Sean McVay openly mulled an early retirement, and NBC dropped a bombshell shortly before kickoff about howcould potentially retire if the Rams were to win the Super Bowl. However, both McVay and Donald will be in Francisco Liriano Jersey the fold for 2022.It only took McVay a couple weeks to about this upcoming season, as he committed to the Rams while receiving a raise, despite that he was reportedly scheduled to meet with Amazon about a broadcasting gig.Andrew Marchand of the, the potential deal between McVay and Amazon could have been in the neighborhood of $100 million over five years.Recently, McVay told Rich Eisen that he still has a pa sion for coaching the game, but that he won't be coaching the Rams when he's 70."If I was to put a timeline on it, I am nowhere close to not wanting to coach football," Jordan Lyles Jersey McVay said, . "I love coaching so much. The question was asked if I was going to be a lifer in coaching, and then I elaborated on I don't know if I see myself doing this until I'm 70."The broadcasting world is enticing to McVay, and he joked that he wanted to follow into the booth after seeing him sign a with Fox that will kick off when he decides to hang up the cleats. This question of McVay's future began Chris Stratton Jersey in the days leading up to Super Bowl LVI, as the 36-year-old told reporters that he was not going to do this job until he was 60. , McVay started his response by saying he was joking, but then got more serious in his words. "I love this so much that it's such a pa sion but I also know that what I've seen from some of my closest friends, whether it's coaches or even some of our players, I'm gonna be married this summer, Jung-ho Kang Jersey I want to have a family and I think being able to find that balance but also be able to give the time nece sary," McVay said. "I have always had a dream about being able to be a father and I can't predict the future, you know? I jokingly say that."I don't really know. I know I love football and I'm so invested in this thing and I'm in the moment right now. But at some point, too, if you said what do you want to be able to do? I want to be able to have a family and I want to be able to spend time with them."McVay will likely find himself in the Felipe Vazquez Jersey booth calling NFL games one day, but when that will be is something people will continue to discu s.
