Prior to Blizzard permitting same-faction Battleground matchmaking Horde participants had to wait up to an hour to take part in matches due to the faction's much larger number of buy WOW WoTLK Classic Gold players, which made winning the exclusive rewards more challenging. The most recent game's same-faction matchmaking test provides additional benefits for Alliance players who opt to join Battlegrounds.
