In an interview with the press in April from wangyue's blog

As Blizzard announced Wrath of the Lich King Classic in  WOTLK Gold April, the company clarified that certain features that were added at the conclusion of the expansion's popularity--such as the quest tracker, and an automated Dungeon Finder--would not be part of the game's experience. The reason for not incorporating those two features was to preserve the original Wrath of the Lich King levels experience, aswell as the social aspect of the MMORPG that typically requires players to communicate with each other and manually join up for dungeons or quests as they explore Azeroth. Instead of being simply told on the map where to go and what to kill such as modern WoW, Blizzard indicated it wanted to keep WoW Classic an experience that was different.

In a recent forum posting, Blizzard now says its thoughts on the subject has "changed quite some" since those initial interviews.

"Just wanted to drop in and mention that we do in fact plan to integrate the quest tracking features which were introduced in patch 3.3 of the original Wrath of the Lich King into the Quest Log and Map UI at some point in the future," Blizzard writes.

Quest tracking isn't present on the Wrath of the Lich King Classic beta, and Blizzard clarifies that the feature together with other features like the in-game calendar as well as the equipment manager, are under active development. It's unclear if the future plan is to have quest tracking to be in place for Wrath of the Lich King Classic's release or if it's a possibility to add it after release.

In an interview with the press in April, WoW Classic lead developer Brian Birmingham said Blizzard wouldn't use quest tracking to allow players to progress up through the expansion in the same way as they did cheap WOW WOTLK Classic Gold when the expansion was first launched in 2008. If this is the case then the quest tracker may not be available initially, but could be added to the game at the end that expansion's feature cycle in the same manner as it was originally.
