Runewords are some of the most impressive items that you can create within Diablo 2: Resurrected, however, they require quite much effort to create
cheap d2r items. First, you need to find the appropriate runes in order to create the runeword. Then, you need to find the appropriate weapon, shield, or armor that is able to accept the runeword.
The item needs to have exactly the number of sockets in order for the runewords to work, and also the runewords should be placed in the socketed object in the appropriate order. The item must also be unadorned (white) as well as magic (blue), rare (yellow) unique (gold), along with set (green) items that have the appropriate amount of sockets will not work for runewords.
Because of this, you must take extreme care when creating a runeword. Double- and triple-check the items's proper type -- for example, the Insight runeword may be created in staves or polearms but not spears -- and put the runes out in the correct order prior to inserting them into the item.
There are a few intricacies with regards to weapon and armor types that you should make note of. "Body armor" is only items that are worn on your body. General "armor" includes shields, boots, gloves, helms, etc. Hammers won't work in conjunction with runewords designed for maces. "Melee weapons" are not included in melee weapons like the crossbow and bow
Diablo 2 Resurrected buy items. Orbs are not also considered melee weapons.
