The challenge for RuneScape gold us is that despite all of our programmes and best intentions the problem is still huge and, most annoyingly, still negatively affecting portions of our game. We are continuing to battle spiders on all fronts. In a bid to be open and transparent we wish to discuss a couple of measures and initiatives we are about to release/have released lately: We have recently improved our internal processes to be able to spot spam in the conversation window and immediately mute the offender preventing the continuous flow of communication from the golden farmers that are impacting the sport experience. Your reports are very beneficial to us !
Continuing our continuing legal cases against bot developers. Mandatory email approval for new accounts will include extra account safety and impair the mass account creation that gold farmers use. There are several other initiatives and activities that we intend to implement over the next few weeks and we will discuss them as often and in much detail because we could. The most important of them is to come shortly. Additionally, we recognise that we haven't been the best at communicating what we are doing and that affects today.
While we are winning small battles by spending substantial money and resources in attempting to fight this problem, the war is not moving in our favour because we're struggling to keep up with businesses whose only business 24 hours a day 7 days a week is to discover methods to get robots to the game. Consequently, 1 thing has gotten quite clear to us regardless of our ongoing efforts.
We can't win this battle . We want your help. So how do you help? To begin with, we'd like to hear from you at a more coordinated way regarding your thoughts about how to fight the robots difficulty. We'll be developing polls to help us understand more about robots directly out of you... we'd love to hear your reply. We'd like to prepare a special forum where we could have targeted Q&A's and get formal comments from you about specific endeavors. We will allow you to know if this forum is set up and invite you to join us.
We hope that you will participate with and encourage your friends to use any tools we provide to you that will help us identify and ban the bots like the Spam Filter attribute. And finally, we'd request you to refrain from using bots or supporting gold farmers. When there isn't a market, then bots will not exist. As was so eloquently put in a current post on Tip.it"Position around Jagex [by voicing the opinion on the botting issue], an individual could argue, demands a certain quantity of guts, but more is needed to endure to one's friends". The participant went on to say,"The community needs to stand up for itself by simply following the rules and shunning those who don't.
