But, Sony is now looking to sell the PS5 as its main hardware, which means that the PS4 will eventually come to the end of its life. With the new instructions from Sony it is now possible to get some idea when PS4 might actually go to the side.
As revealed in Sony's latest financial presentation, it was explained that games that are available for PS4 will disappear in 2025. This doesn't mean the older PS4 games won't be purchasable, but Sony has clearly stated that it will be done with releasing new games on the platform by the time this happens.
However, Sony has forecast that D2R Ladder Items, the majority of its revenue associated with games will stem out of PlayStation 5, with titles played on PC and mobile devices also contributing in the remaining half of its revenue.
