I'd strongly suggest getting 70 attack, strength, defense range and OSRS gold mage prior to attempting barrows. You don't require that simply 70 mage or 50 ranged to use an MSB or just mithril bolts in Zanik's C'bow. It's been working for me. Though I've improved my stats now.

Optional: Get DT completed for Ice burst, or unless you have 55 slayers, in which case I imagine you can make use of magic dart. If you do that though it will require a canifis gateway within your home, which requires completion of DT (or it'll take slgihtly longer to get there, but, whatever). You don't have to do DT to complete it, but it's an exciting quest and you'll be looking to get it done in the near future, and having it completed now would be helpful. Although you don't really need 70 att, def, range, and mage will be very helpful. Magic dart can be a useful alternative...

Really, I'm talking about the melee levels? You really, really truly don't need them. Barrows runs work without them. I'm sure 70 defense might be helpful however, if you're playing Ice magics, you don't need to use melee. Absolutely not. Karil gets destroyed by magic and ahrim is not a lot slower to get to the right place.

It's true that I rarely do more than one run at a time, but that's because I'm unable to get from the maze. (This was before I mastered some of the levels you've mentioned). I'm sure I could do 2 or 3 in a row at the same time.

70 defence is very very highly effective with blast to sally. It is among the best methods(if you don't have access to turm/chaotics etc etc). Attack and buy 2007 runescape gold strength speed up Ahrim, however it isn't needed and 70 mage should be considered an absolute minimum. 82 is better.
