Tinder is introducing a new in-app event called Vibes — miniature quizzes that can help you match more easily with others. The dating app announced the feature on 4 May.
These questions will be simple and meant to bring together users with a common interest. Fill in the blanks like “_____ is not picnic food” or questions like “Are you always 20 minutes early or 10 minutes late?” will be asked.
The experience of Vibes itself is not some produced video series, however. Instead, Vibes presents users with a series of questions ranging from personality traits to pop culture. Again like Swipe Night, their responses will be displayed on their profile — in this case, for 72 hours. And when matches who participated in Vibes begin to chat, they’ll be able to see one another’s responses directly within the chat window, Tinder says.
“Your Tinder profile should be an authentic representation of yourself, and that often changes as you explore who you are, what you want, and what’s happening around you,” Tinder’s Product VP Udi Milo said in a post.
“We built Vibes to help make profiles as dynamic as our members while giving them more to match on along the way.”
The Vibes quizzes have been under testing since 2020 and Tinder has stated that the feature has increased likes and matches by an unspecified number. The feature will start rolling out today and will be available globally by the end of May.
